I think its something about how non-plussed the Goblin is, and how center-frame the amputation is, vs

2 Chaos Warp, Which Can Hit Any Target Due to the color pie's restrictions, red is allowed to destroy artifacts/lands and deal direct damage, but it is not meant to destroy enchantments or planeswalkers

You don't even realize how much that interacts with until you start playing with it

This means that almost every time the front side is cast before and the two sides have some synergies together, which isn't true of split cards where you can only cast one or the other
