There are some cards in the deck besides creatures that enjoy when creatures have counters, like Inspiring Call or Mutational Advantage
In Commander, it is especially useful with commanders that create tokens, place counters, or support proliferate
Some MTG colors struggle with drawing cards a bit more than others
His evasive nature keeps him from being challenged by most other characters as well, unless Captain Hook, Master Swordsman is in play
