I unhooked the panel from the right side only, and that allowed me to pull the panel down and rotate it with the front side facing down just enough to see it and just barely reach it

You may need to hold down a button on the case or wait for an indicator light to start blinking to know your battery is charging

In this case, the problem may exist inside the lighter
